As I read the selections by Christina Rossetti I fell in love with her contridictory tendencies of the female power and beauty. Rossetti seemed to show that a woman's beauty can come in handy when trying to be persuasive, but her beauty can also be a henderance to her individuality.

My Love for the Romantic

As an English major I am allowed to read the wide variety of literature that expands my likes and dislikes. I'm not much one for Realism, but when it comes to Romanticism I have fallen in love with the unrealistic ghost stories of Edgar Allen Poe and Washington Irving. I like to feel as if I am able to escape in the literature, away from the realistic.
